MILAN, Italy -- Telecom Italia has won the tender to design and implement the whole broadband telecommunications infrastructure network for 5,092 new SNAI gaming points across Italy. Telecom Italia won the two-year contract because of the bid’s high technological profile.

The Telecom Italia-designed infrastructure will allow real-time horseracing and sports event betting at all new SNAI gaming points. The telematic link between the agencies and the headquarter will enable SNAI to rapidly verify all bets placed to ensure their correctness. The Telecom Italia solution integrates fixed-line and mobile broadband technologies (ADSL/MPLS/GPRS and EDGE) to ensure highly reliable and continuous connections. A dedicated helpdesk will be available for the network via a special ad hoc number.

As a result of this contract, Telecom Italia is now SNAI’s sole service provider. SNAI runs Italy’s most extensive betting network, with over 6,000 outlets nationwide. Furthermore Telecom Italia is consolidating its nationwide leadership in online betting through ongoing partnerships with the top market players, and confirming its commitment to designing and implementing innovative solutions for this sector based on leading-edge technologies.
