MINNEAPOLIS -- Allot Communications, the leading provider of deep packet inspection (DPI) technology for service optimization, today launched two new models in its NetEnforcer AC-800 series of traffic management devices--the AC-804 and AC-808.

The devices are designed for small to mid-sized service providers and medium to large enterprises. Using deep packet inspection (DPI) technology, the devices give network managers an unsurpassed level of visibility into the network to monitor and control traffic and user behavior.

"Thanks to Allot, we have a tool that allows us to gain visibility of our network at the application level as well as control our internet traffic effectively," said Vicente Giles, communications director for the University of Malaga. "With more insight in to what is running on our network, we're able to offer our students and staff exceptional Quality of Service and performance."

The AC-804 and AC-808 models feature four and eight Gigabit Ethernet ports respectively, providing flexible support for two or four network links. Both models are available in a range of operation speeds with either copper or fiber-optic interfaces.

Additionally, both devices are equipped with Allot's new NetXplorer centralized management capability, which provides end-to-end visibility and in-depth analysis of bandwidth usage per application and per user. Working together, NetEnforcer AC-804/808 and NetXplorer deliver the network business intelligence and QoS control that operators need to guarantee the delivery and performance of VoIP, streaming video, and a host of other high-bandwidth services.

The ability of the AC-804 and AC-808 to support multiple Ethernet links in one device makes it easier to implement traffic management within and across segmented networks (such as those with DMZ subnets), meshed networks, and other topologies. It also enables the configuration of flexible load-sharing and robust redundancy schemes to ensure uninterrupted visibility, monitoring and control at critical junctures in the network.

"Unlike adding bandwidth or accelerating packets on a network, Allot helps network administrators see what's actually on the network, and use that intelligent insight to manage traffic according to business requirements," said Rami Hadar, president and CEO, Allot Communications. "This ability to determine network content is invaluable for managing traffic while maintaining a high level of service quality."
