SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today outlined its strategy to address the evolving application performance issues created by data center consolidation, server centralization and globally distributed users. Leveraging its core competencies in application acceleration and security, as well as its Enterprise Infranet framework, the company is delivering a comprehensive, pragmatic and systematic strategy for accelerating more applications, increasing reach and scalability, and leveraging visibility and reporting. In a related announcement, Juniper Networks today introduced the latest release of the WX Central Management System(TM) to address the visibility and reporting requirements.

The Juniper Networks Application Acceleration Strategy defines new capabilities designed to address the challenges associated with limited bandwidth, latency, application contention and system-wide management in the distributed and extended enterprise. This strategy builds on the established foundation of the Juniper Networks DX and WX/WXC product lines and will be implemented across a suite of application acceleration platforms.

'Many organizations are centralizing their data centers to enforce tighter security, simplify regulatory compliance and gain better control over corporate assets,' said Eric Siegel, senior analyst at the Burton Group. 'Enterprise network administrators need well-integrated application acceleration solutions to provide good response times and availability over the WAN for their widely distributed users without compromising security and without creating system management difficulties.'

In a separate release:

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced the latest release of its WX(TM) Central Management System(TM) (CMS(TM)) software for both large enterprises and managed service providers. The WX CMS version 5.2 software offers a number of new capabilities that reduce the time and costs required to roll out application acceleration services, automate critical provisioning functions and optimize network resources via new reporting and planning tools.

Available now, the WX CMS 5.2 software delivers on the visibility and reporting requirements defined as part of the Juniper Networks Application Acceleration Strategy, also announced today. Built to support the specific needs of managed service providers (MSPs) delivering application acceleration services, the new WX CMS software enables users to easily and cost-effectively deliver value-added reporting capabilities to multiple customers from a single interface.

'As a service provider, delivering a truly competitive, value-added service requires visibility into application performance across the enterprise, coupled with the ability to provide customers with detailed reports summarizing that performance as it relates to the business,' says Mike Journey, Telehealth Systems Manager, GCI Managed Broadband Services. 'The Juniper Networks WX CMS is ideal for our large enterprise clients with its ability to create multiple user accounts and assign different access privileges. We can give customers read-only access to view their stats when they want, 24 hours a day, without my intervention.'
