LEAGUE CITY, Texas -- Eagle Broadband, Inc. (AMEX:EAG), a leading supplier of broadband products, services and content, announced today that it has entered into a Value-Added Manufacturing Agreement with Iridium Satellite LLC, a provider of global satellite voice and data communications, and has successfully completed an initial series of strenuous interoperability testing with the Iridium Satellite Network as a part of the formal Iridium certification process for Eagle's breakthrough Orb'Phone Exchange non-line-of-sight communications platform.

The agreement establishes a framework for Eagle Broadband to seamlessly integrate the Orb'Phone Exchange into the Iridium Satellite Network in order to deliver truly global satellite-based voice and data services in areas traditionally not served by the Iridium Network, i.e., the use of large numbers of wireless handsets aboard in-flight aircraft, within buildings/large structures, in obstructed areas or underground, and in densely developed metropolitan areas. The Orb'Phone Exchange allows users with standard or customized Iridium handsets to send and receive voice and data calls on an aircraft, in a building, or in any location where it is difficult to physically gain line-of-sight to an orbiting Iridium Satellite. "We are pleased to see the innovative product that has been developed by Eagle Broadband and are excited about the potential we see for this product in a variety of vertical markets in addition to the aviation industry," said Christina Clifton, executive vice president of Global Marketing and Sales for Iridium Satellite LLC.

Eagle and European marketing partner Euro-GSM have received strong interest and demand for the Orb'Phone Exchange from both new and existing customers, including a number of highly qualified leads from attendees of the recent Paris Air Show. Joachim Reuter, Head of Cabin Communication Systems for Airbus, noted recently at the Paris Air Show, "Even though I was at the Orb'Phone booth inside the exhibition hall, it was easy to establish calls with the Orb'Phone Exchange and I was impressed with the quality of the connections. Based on the Orb'Phone's performance, I'm convinced that the Orb'Phone Exchange is a great solution for telephone communications in aviation." The Orb'Phone Exchange is ideally suited for commercial airlines looking to generate higher-margin revenue streams by offering truly differentiated, lower-cost voice and data services that are in high demand by both business and leisure travelers.

Dr. H. Dean Cubley, chairman and CEO of Eagle Broadband, commented, "The Orb'Phone Exchange has the ability to greatly expand the coverage, applications and addressable markets for the Iridium Network. We've seen tremendous interest from the aviation community, military, and national and local Homeland Security agencies as they seek technologies that enable them to achieve truly global service coverage for their satellite-based voice and data systems. We are looking forward to working closely with our marketing partners to develop these markets and fully address our customers' most demanding communications requirements."
