SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Brocade (Nasdaq: BRCD) announced today third-party validation of the company’s long-standing commitment to operate the business based on a specific set of environmental values and sustainable “green” practices.

Specifically, Brocade received the largest data center energy efficiency incentive in Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) history with an incentive of $2,100,000 under PG&E’s Non-Residential New Construction Program. In addition, the Brocade San Jose headquarters has been awarded LEED® Commercial Interiors Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The Brocade headquarters campus and data center is a showcase for best-practice design principles of flexibility, scalability, energy efficiency and sustainability, featuring a design to support continued business growth and state-of-the-art research and development. These environmental milestones reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and a greener data center.

“Our headquarters project is just one example of how we apply cost-effective and environmentally friendly solutions to our business operations and our products,” said Michael Hirahara, vice president of global real estate, facilities and services for Brocade. “Looking forward, we are also evaluating alternative energy solutions like wind and fuel cells as we strive to be good stewards of our communities, the environment and our shareholders’ investment, now and into the future.”
