EXTON, Pa. -- Kevin Hart, executive vice president and CTO of Cox Communications, will deliver the keynote remarks at SCTE SEMI (Smart Energy Management Initiative) Forum 2013 next April, the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) announced today.

As part of its efforts to more deeply embed conservation practices, Cox has adopted strategies for reduced energy consumption and increased sustainability throughout the business. Hart is expected to highlight the “Cox Conserves” program, but he will also discuss other ways cable operators can change how their entire workforces, operations and outreach programs can reflect modern energy and sustainable thinking. Cisco Systems will sponsor the keynote session.

Scheduled for Wednesday, April 10 in Atlanta, SEMI Forum 2013 will bring together operators, vendors and other experts for discussion of power, density, performance, sustainability and disaster recovery issues. Preliminary events, including working group meetings of the Sustainability Management Subcommittee (SMS) within the SCTE Standards Program, are scheduled for Tuesday, April 9.
