Fujitsu is helping MNOs extend the fronthaul range by 60%

Today, mobile network operators (MNOs) must locate their radios within 30 km of the distributed unit (DU). But now, with Fujitsu technology, MNOs can extend this range to 50 km, by reducing the amount of time needed to process layer 1 tasks. MNOs can then use this time to increase the fronthaul latency budget, while also avoiding excess capacity and reducing their hardware needs. Rob Hughes of Fujitsu explains how in this demonstration from MWC 2024.
